Alison Weller

Alison Weller is a writer, actor, and producer. She has been an Associate Artist with The Civilians since 2002 and was an original collaborator on their long-running hit Gone Missing and critically acclaimed This Beautiful City. As an actor, she has worked on and off Broadway, and in regional theatres all over. As a company member of ReEntry, she performed for service members in the US Navy, facilitating subsequent conversations with them as part of their official reintegration process. Weller has taught the methodology of investigative theatre at NYU, Illinois State University, Colorado College, Sarah Lawrence, and Kingsborough Community College. In 2016, Cape Rep Theatre in Brewster, MA, commissioned her to write a play based on interviews with people in and around the Cape Cod fishing community. The research phase of the project was supported by a Mass Humanities grant, and Boundless, the resulting production, opened at Cape Rep on November 2, 2017.
