Davis Robinson is professor of theater at Bowdoin College, where he recently directed Sweat, The Threepenny Opera, End of Summer, A Little Night Music, Measure for Measure, and Enemy of the People. He frequently directs for the Theater at Monmouth, including The Illusion, You Can't Take It With You, Antony and Cleopatra, and Our Town. Davis directed the New England premiere of Epic Proportions at the Lyric Stage in Boston. He is best known as artistic director of Beau Jest Moving Theater, an innovative troupe that has appeared at numerous theaters including two Off-Broadway runs and performances at Lincoln Center and Piccolo Spoleto. Their production ofSamurai 7.0 was nominated for a 2006 Elliot Norton award. Other productions include Motion Sickness, The Cardiff Giant, Ten Blocks On The Camino Real, The Remarkable Rooming House of Madame Le Monde,“Krazy Kat,” winner of a Boston Theater Award, and their newest production, APT. 4D. Davis trained with Jacques Lecoq and Tony Montanaro, and is author of the Physical Comedy Handbook and the Practical Guide to Ensemble Devising.
