Jennifer Onopa is a director and educator nearing completion of an MFA in Theater Directing at UMass Amherst, where she has studied within the unique Multicultural Theater Certificate program, led by Professor Priscilla Page. Her interests include community-engaged theater practice and the staging of devised and contemporary plays. Her work has appeared at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown, South Africa, St. Ann’s Warehouse, and the Brooklyn Arts Exchange. She has worked with Ping Chong and Company, the Creative Arts Team Youth Theater (NYC), Redmoon Theater (Chicago), and taught high school literacy for ten years in the New York City Department of Education.
