Marcina Zaccaria

Writer, Director, and Arts Administrator. She lives in New York City.

Marcina Zaccaria has directed readings and plays in venues that include New Dramatists, TheaterLab, HERE Arts Center, 13th Street Repertory Company, Theater for the New City, Soho Rep, Dance Theater Workshop, and the Museum of Jewish Heritage. She curated a Salon at Dixon Place. This one day event featured visual artists, spoken word artists, dancers, filmmakers, and theater artists.

Arts administration experience include Audience Services at the Roundabout, and providing support for the Executive Director/ Contemporary Programming at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.

She was a reader for the The New York Musical Theatre Festival, is a member of the League of Professional Theatre Women, and was an adjudicator for the New York International Fringe Festival. Theater is always a place for community. Often, a festival can provide a rigorous forum to investigate issues surrounding community. What is the need for stories? What is collective storytelling? How do we appreciate the role that performance plays in our ever-changing, cultural landscape? How is the moment created and for whom? How do we define a cultural landscape that includes forms, images, and ideas? Do ideas and images succumb to the whims of the moment or do they persist over time?
