Troy Herion

Troy Herion is a composer and filmmaker whose works unite contemporary music with visual arts through chamber and orchestral music, opera, theater, dance, and film. Compositions have been performed by ensembles including American Composers Orchestra, So Percussion, Crash Ensemble, Nash Ensemble of London, and JACK Quartet. His visual-music films including Baroque Suite and New York: A City Symphony have been called “marvelous” by New Yorker critic Alex Ross and were featured on MTV, The New York Times, and performed at Carnegie Hall. As a composer for the theatre he has worked with Pig Iron Theatre, The Wilma Theater, The Arden Theatre, Azuka Theater, Swarthmore College, and Columbia University. Most recently he scored the feature film The Dog which premiered at SXSW and screened internationally. He is currently completing a dual PhD at Princeton University in Music and Interdisciplinary Humanities.
