Welker White

Welker White has worked as an actress, teacher, and director for over twenty-five years. As an actor, Welker has performed on and off-Broadway, originating roles in plays by acclaimed playwrights Sam Shepard, Craig Lucas, John Patrick Shanley, David Ives, Howard Korder, Keith Reddin, Mac Wellman, Joanna Murray-Smith, and Lisa Kron, among others. Numerous film and television credits include working with noted directors Martin Scorsese, Peter Weir, Nora Ephron, and Chris Rock as well as guest appearances on shows such as Sex and the City, multiple Law and Order episodes, Smash, and many made-for-television movies.

Welker is an adjunct professor at Brooklyn College where she teaches at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Welker attended NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, holds a Bachelor of Science in Theater Studies from CUNY, and an MFA in Directing from Brooklyn College. She has been awarded numerous academic grants and awards. Welker teaches workshops both locally and abroad. Upcoming workshops include NYU Grad Acting and a series of on-camera workshops in Melbourne, Australia. She is currently working on a book.
