Emerson College presented the panel discussion The Crisis in Casting for Stage and Media livestreamed on the global, commons-based peer produced HowlRound TV network at howlround.tv on Friday 14 October at 12 p.m. PDT (Los Angeles)/ 1 p.m. MDT (Denver)/ 2 p.m. CDT (New Orleans)/ 3 p.m. EDT (Boston).

The discussion is part of the Teach-In on Race, an annual academic and creative creative event sponsored by Academic Affairs and the President's Office, with the Office of Diversity and Inclusion and the Honors Program. The Teach-In is designed to engage the community in active learning about race and racism. Within this framework and addressing the goals below, each year a theme will be selected and interrogated by members of the campus community through scholarship and creative works.

The Crisis in Casting for Stage and Media panel addresses problems people of color encounter in landing roles.
