IETM Brussels Plenary Meeting gathered 800 performing arts professionals from all over the world to discuss the role of art in the age of populism.

The opening plenary speaker Eleanor Bauer was Artistic Director of GoodMove, Brussels.

In this session, Eleanor Bauer talked about “the traumas and ruptures of the post-truth era that are exposing holes in the fabric of our co-constructed realities. Now we must exercise pluralism in thought, understanding and action. How can we create space for artistic, social and discursive practices that listen to the murmurings of the multitude and employ sensitivity towards today's complexities and chaos? Let’s unfold art in the age of populism in relation to the divide between rationality and emotionality in public discourse.”
