Zero Pilnik is a gender-bending performer and storyteller from São Paulo, Brazil. As an actor and writer, Zero aims to provoke audiences through performances that subvert the norm.
Zero (who uses “daddy” as a gender pronoun) graduated from California Institute of the Arts with a BFA in acting and creative writing. During a residency at Double Edge Theatre, daddy developed the solo show Ithaca, which premiered in 2017 at the Electric Lodge in Venice, USA. Zero is a recipient of fellowships from Akademie der Künste (2021), LABA Berlin (2021), flausen+ (2020), and a recipient of the 2017 Tim Disney Prize for Excellence in the Storytelling Arts for the original play People Who Love Move Mountains. Recent projects include: Political Voice Institute (Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin), This is Not Wonderland (immersive Drag show at club Wilde Renate), and 27 Club (Wein Salon, Framed e.V.) – the latter made possible due to funding from Fonds Darstellende Künste and LABA: a Laboratory for Jewish Culture. Currently developing two TV series: a dystopic queer Spaghetti Western and a dramedy about Drag Kings. You can also catch daddy performing regularly in bars and clubs throughout Berlin as Mojo, the Sword Swallower of Switzerland – part of the Drag collective Venus Boys.
Zero also plays the accordion and sews, but can't whistle very well. Currently living in Berlin, Germany.
