From his unique vantage point, award-winning playwright Rajiv Joseph gives voice to the extraordinary journey that made him into a writer and storyteller.  His resilience and commitment to storytelling built his playwriting career and affirms us all as Pan Asian/Pacific Islander/Indigenous artists.
Discussion to follow with a dynamic panel of storytellers and stage directors on the current American theater landscape: the many senior and executive leadership openings, building a movement for greater visibility, access, and equity, diversity, inclusion best practices.

Centering Our Voices as a Revolutionary Act: Rebels for Movement Building

The program transitions us mid-week to feature Central/West Asian/Middle Eastern/Arab artists and their perspectives. In addition to addressing critical issues, such as the recent travel ban as well as the immigrant crises and activism, this program acts as a follow-up to the 2016 CAATA ConFest, where the first Central/West Asian/Middle Eastern/Arab Pre-Conference was held in Portland and Ashland, OR.
