No Dream Deferred presented the HBCU Theatre Summit’s “To Be Young, Gifted, and Black” Monologue Showcase livestreaming on the global, commons-based, peer-produced HowlRound TV network on Saturday 15 April 2023 at 2 p.m. PDT (San Francisco, UTC -7) / 4 p.m. CDT (New Orleans, UTC -5) / 5 p.m. EDT (New York, UTC -4).
Featuring monologues by HBCU college students.
The Summit offers students a chance to see our new original work productions running in rep at the André Cailloux Center. They also have the opportunity to participate in our workshops and sessions for acting, design, tech, production, writing, directing, and more. This year’s HBCU Theatre Summit includes a monologue showcase as well as a theatre practitioner portfolio review. These events were created to allow the students to display and share their work with their peers and other professionals.
