Monday 20 September 2021

Independent Theater Hungary released Roma Heroes - Five European Dramas on European Culture Day at the Goethe Institute, Budapest, Hungary livestreaming on the commons-based peer produced HowlRound TV network Monday 20 September 2021 at 9 a.m. PDT (Los Angeles, UTC -7 ) / 12 p.m. EDT (New York, UTC -4) / 17:00 BST (London, UTC +1) / 18:00 CEST (Budapest, UTC +2) / 19:00 EEST (Bucharest, UTC +3).

We hardly know the stories and theatre of the biggest minority group in Europe, although they are present in many European countries. This book features stories of various Roma heroes from five different countries, from East to West, from the Second World War to the present-day corona virus pandemic.

The book was created with the aim of reaching as many people as possible with stories that convey the values of Roma theatre and communities to the readers.

Hear excerpts from the plays and performance videos during this book launch.
