Breaking String Theater of Austin, Texas proudly presented Vodka, Fucking and Television by Russian playwright Maksym Kurochkin, directed by Liz Fisher, and translated by John J. Hanlon, livestreamed on the global, commons-based, peer-produced HowlRound TV network at howlround.tv on Saturday 8 December at 6 p.m. PST (San Francisco)/ 8 p.m. CST (Austin) / 9 p.m. EST (New York) / Sunday 9 December at 02:00 GMT (London) / Sunday 9 December at 06:00 MSK (Moscow).

Vodka, Fucking and Television is a dark comedy about a struggling writer, and the vices holding him back. But Kurochkin gives this plot a surprising twist: The vices become personified, and each gets a chance to justify their presence in the hero's life, or get the boot. Inspired by artistic malaise, Vodka, Fucking and Television calls to mind a fantastic combination of the Cohen Brothers' Barton Fink, with Sartre's No Exit.
