The Shakespeare Theatre Association 2015 Conference presented the Shakespeare and New Work panel livestreamed on the global, commons-based peer-produced HowlRound TV network ahowlround.tv on Saturday 10 January 2015 at 10:40 a.m. PST (Los Angeles) / 12:40 p.m. CST (Chicago) / 1:40 p.m. EST (New York).

Playwrights Bill Cain, Lauren Gunderson, and Amy Freed discuss how Shakespeare inspired them to write new plays, while Ralph Cohen champions the production of lesser-known Early Modern plays as new work. Moderated by Patrick Flick.

This is a plenary session of the 25th Annual conference of the Shakespeare Theatre Association. At this conference over 150 Shakespeare theatre delegates from around the country and the globe will gather in San Francisco. The conference includes companies large and small, from the Globe Theatre, London, to the Hawaii Shakespeare Festival, to the Rochester Community Players, to Oregon Shakespeare and many more—all united in their commitment to the production of the works of William Shakespeare for the benefit of their communities. The conference, hosted by The San Francisco Shakespeare Festival, is guided by the theme, "Of Imagination all Compact: Innovation, Creativity, and Relevance in Shakespeare.
