Lisa A. Freeman is Professor and Head of the English Department at the University of Illinois at Chicago.  Her most recent book, Antitheatricality and the Body Public (UPenn Press, 2017), explores the politics and the public bodies that form around antitheatrical controversies dating from the Renaissance to the present day.
