Anna D. Novak

dramaturg, researcher, virgo, lover of the occult

Anna Dolores Novak is a dramaturg, writer, and researcher from the Chicago suburbs currently based in Glasgow. She studied at New York University before moving back to the midwest to work at a non-profit theatre in Iowa. Originally an actor, Novak played Sonya in the midwest premiere of Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812. She has since pivoted her practice towards research to investigate queer women's histories and dramaturgical strategies. She has trained with Double Edge Theatre, Gob Squad, and collaborated with fellow artists for a multi-media exhibition, Architecture of Travel, focused on the art/experiences of train movements across Germany. She is currently earning her Masters at the University of Glasgow, studying collaboration in turn of the century British feminist dramas.
