christopher oscar peña (he/him) has written plays including The Strangers (the Clarence Brown Theatre), a cautionary tail (the Flea Theater), how to make an American Son (Arizona Theatre Company, Rattlestick Playwrights Theater). He is an artistic associate at Arizona Theatre Company and a member of New Dramatists. In television, he was a writer on the Golden Globe–nominated debut season of the CW show Jane the Virgin and the critically acclaimed HBO show Insecure, as well as the Starz show Sweetbitter and the Freeform series Motherland: Fort Salem. He is currently a supervising producer on the ABC show Promised Land, where he is also developing an original series.
