Finding Your Voice Later In Life (Is It Too Late To "Emerge?") Conversation
As college writing programs proliferate, the notion of "emerging writers" (in fellowships, residencies, grants, and concept) is a notion that needs to be expanded. Opportunities that are meant to nurture writers who are at the beginning of their writing journeys should not be based on age (or experience in other parts of the industry)—but on their need for nurturing/support as they navigate their way through finding their voice. Christine Toy Johnson will moderate a discussion with panelists Emily Morse, Hunter Bell, and Timothy Huang (participants subject to change) to talk about their experiences and to help inspire writers to find new ways to stay hopeful and proactive, know that they have a place in the community with others sharing similar concerns, and to foster a meaningful discussion.

This was fantastic. Thank you so much. Do you know if there has ever been a discussion for emerging writers that don't live in New York? What they need to do, theatre circuits that would entertain their work, etc. Thank you!
This was inspiring on so many levels. Is there a way the audience can be mic'd? I was particularly interested in the comment from the audience member who made the comment about Shakespeare.
Thanks Teresa. Dramatists Guild is aware of it and will try out some new ways to amplify the sound.
