Berkeley Repertory Theatre presented their Creative Careers panel: Pen to Paper, A Discussion with Professional Playwrights livestreamed on the global, commons-based HowlRound TV network at howlround.tv Monday 23 January at 5:30 p.m. PST (Los Angeles), 7:30 p.m. CST (Chicago), 8:30 p.m. EST (New York).

About the Artists:
Christopher Chen is an international award-winning playwright whose full-length works have been produced and developed across the United States and abroad, at companies such as the American Conservatory Theater, Arcola Theatre (London), Asian American Theater Company, Bay Area Playwrights Festival, Beijing Fringe, Berkeley Rep/Ground Floor, Central Works, Crowded Fire, Cutting Ball Theater, Edinburgh Fringe, Fluid Motion, hotINK Festival, Impact Theatre, InterAct Theatre, Just Theatre, Lark Play Development Center, Magic Theatre, Playwrights Foundation, San Francisco Playhouse, Silk Road Rising, Sundance Theatre Lab, Theatre Mu, U.C. Berkeley/Zellerbach Playhouse, and The Vineyard. http://www.christopherchen.org/

Dipika Guha was born in Calcutta and raised in India, Russia, and the United Kingdom. She is the inaugural recipient of the Shakespeare’s Sister Playwriting Award with the Lark Play Development Center, A Room of Her Own, and Hedgebrook. Her plays include Yoga Play (Upcoming: South Coast Repertory Theatre), The Art of Gaman (Berkeley Rep Ground Floor, KILROYS LIST ’16, Relentless Award Semi-Finalist), I Enter the Valley (Theatreworks New Play Festival, Southern Rep New Play Festival), Mechanics of Love (Crowded Fire Theatre, Two by For) and Blown Youth (published by Playscripts, Wallflower Theatricals, UK). She is currently working on a translation of Merry Wives of Windsor for Oregon Shakespeare Festival’s PlayOn Project, a short play for McCarter Theatre’s Princeton Slavery Project, and a commission for Playwrights Horizons Theatre School. Most recently her work has been developed at Playwrights Horizons, Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre, Roundabout Underground, McCarter Theatre’s Sallie B. Goodman Residency, New Georges, Shotgun Players, the Sam French Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival, Southern Rep, 24 Hour Plays on Broadway, and the Magic Theatre amongst others. Dipika is currently a visiting artist at the Schell Center for International Human Rights at Yale Law School, a resident playwright at the Playwrights Foundation, and an upcoming Hodder Fellow at the Lewis Center for the Arts at Princeton University. Akpore Uzoh  is an actor and playwright currently performing in the international tour of  Kneehigh ‘s 946: The Amazing Story of Adolphus Tips. Akpore trained at Guildhall School of Music and Drama and previous theatre credits include A Day in the Life (stet the English Theatre); Go Make You Ready (China tour); The Lights (the Spring); Cherry Pickin’ Your Blossom (Albany Theatre); Rebellion (Hackney Empire); Blacks (Stratford Theatre), and Torn (Arcola Theatre). As director: What’s Beneath the Hoodie (Stratford Circus Theatre). Film: as a writer/director A Day in the Life.
