Amy Gijsbers van Wijk is a playwright, journalist, and actor based in Brooklyn, NY.

Amy Gijsbers van Wijk is a queer, first-generation American playwright from Pasadena, Texas now based in Brooklyn, NY. She has been a recent finalist for PlayPenn, as well as a semi-finalist for both the Bay Area Playwrights Festival and O'Neill Conference. She is the 2018/19 Dennis & Victoria Ross Foundation Playwrights Program winner. Her plays have been developed with The Flea, Fresh Ground Pepper, Pipeline Theatre Company, New Light Theatre Project, and others. She is a New Georges affiliated artist. She has previously made theatre with an Oculus Rift, written a play for a robot, and interned at Houston Public Radio. BA, Brooklyn College under Erin Courtney. MFA, Carnegie Mellon University under Rob Handel.
