she/they

dramaturg, researcher, double virgo and lover of the occult

Anna Dolores Novak is a queer dramaturg and theatre researcher hailing from the Chicago suburbs. She studied at NYU Tisch before moving back to the midwest to work at a non-profit theatre in Iowa. Originally an actor, Novak played Sonya in the midwest premiere of Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812. They have since pivoted their practice towards research to investigate queer women's histories and dramaturgical strategies. She has trained with Double Edge Theatre, Gob Squad, and collaborated with fellow artists for a multi-media exhibition, Architecture of Travel, focused on the art/experiences of train movements across Germany. Novak earned their Master's at the University of Glasgow, and is a PhD student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
