Anne DeAcetis

Anne is a writer and performer based in New York City.

Anne studied English and Theater at Mount Holyoke College, then moved to Chicago with six fellow artists to found Division 13 Productions, a non-profit theater company that produced in both Chicago and New York for nearly a decade (artistic director, Joanna Settle). The company's production of BLOOD LINE: The Oedipus/Antigone Story, in which she played Antigone, received the Chicago After Dark Award for Outstanding Production and is featured in Reimagining Greek Tragedy on the American Stage by Helene Foley (University of California Press, 2011). Anne earned her Acting MFA at the California Institute of the Arts, where she began developing her solo performance, VIOLETTE, VIOLETTE, now a fiscally sponsored project of the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA). The performance premiered at the Obie Award-winning venue The Bushwick Starr and toured to the Chekhov International Theatre Festival in Connecticut. Anne is represented by About Artists Agency and sings lead for the jazz-rock band Bell Helium (debut album release date 6/18/21). As a writer, she covers topics from arts to politics and business on Medium and other platforms, and she is currently working on a new screenplay.
