Aysan Celik

Aysan Celik is an actor, theatremaker and Assistant Arts Professor at NYU Abu Dhabi. She is a founding member of Theater Mitu and is a Civilian. She was recently seen in The Civilians’ The Undertaking at 59E59 and the rolling world premiere of Peter Sinn Nachtrieb’s The Making of a Great Moment at Merrimack Rep and Z Space. With Mitu, Aysan recently co-created and performed Juárez: A Documentary Mythology—the tour included: Centro Cultural Paso Del Norte in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, Mansion Arts Center in Beirut, Kontakt Festival in Torun, Poland, Cairo International Festival for Contemporary and Experimental Theatre, Teatro Memoria in Santiago de Chile, Encuentro Festival in Los Angeles, Rubin Center for the Visual Arts in El Paso, MASSMoCA, Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans, and Rattlestick Playwrights Theater. Aysan is originally from California, and splits her time between Abu Dhabi, New York, and the San Francisco Bay Area.
