Bryan Stanton
they/them

Queer theatre educator and advocate building inclusive stages and classrooms.

Bryan Stanton (they/them) is a genderqueer theatre educator, technical theatre manager, and advocate for inclusive arts education. They are the founder of Teaching While Queer, an initiative supporting LGBTQ+ educators through storytelling, community building, and advocacy. Bryan’s work focuses on queering theatre pedagogy, expanding student agency, and centering historically marginalized voices in arts education. They currently serve as a Performing Arts Technical Manager and Adjunct Lecturer at the City College of New York. Bryan believes in theatre’s radical potential to create liberatory spaces where students’ full identities are honored, celebrated, and explored. When not in the classroom or rehearsal hall, they host the Teaching While Queer podcast and develop resources to help educators create more inclusive and expansive learning environments.
