Corey Madden

In addition to her creative practice as a writer and director, Corey Madden helps artists learn to translate their creative skills and mindset to take on new challenges and achieve greater impact. 

Over a 35 year long professional career, Corey Madden has balanced a creative practice with leadership roles including serving as Executive Director of the Kenan Institute for the Arts at UNC School of the Arts, Founder of L’Atelier Arts, Associate Artistic Director of Center Theatre Group and Producing Director of Performing for Los Angeles Youth.

With mindful leadership expert Rob Kramer, Madden has developed an innovative creative leadership methodology to help artists translate their creative skills and mindset to take on new challenges and achieve greater impact.

Madden is also an award-winning writer and director whose work has been produced by the Public Theatre, Mark Taper Forum, Portland Center Stage, Indiana Repertory, Getty Museum and Villa, Los Angeles Master Chorale, AxS Festival, Autry Museum of Western Heritage, Museum of Contemporary Art, Speeltheatre (Holland) and Transatlantyk Theatre Festival (Poland) among many other venues.

Current projects include And So We Walked: An Artist Journey Along the Trail of Tears written and performed by Delanna Studi, which toured to the Carthage International Theatre Festival in Tunisia in December 2019 and Numbered Days, a poetic memoir that Madden both wrote and directed that  is in development at the Fountain Theatre in Los Angeles.
