Corey Madden

Corey Madden is a writer-director and founder of L'Atelier Arts, which creates multi-disciplinary performance for theatres, museums and public art festivals. Currently she is adapting Farewell My Lovely by Raymond Chandler in collaboration with Antaeus Company. In 2012, Madden will direct Voices in the Dust a new opera by husband and composer, Bruno Louchouarn, and Juan Felipe Herrera, Poet Laureate of California. Madden was Associate Artistic Director of the Mark Taper Forum from 1993-2005 and worked there for twenty-two years. Recent original projects: Rain After Ash (2011 A x S Festival); Day for Night (2010 GLOW, Santa Monica; 2011 Transatlantyk Film and Music Festival, Poland); Rock, Paper, Scissors (2009 Childsplay, Arizona; 2010 Speeltheatre, Holland; Best Play of 2009, Arizona Theatre Awards) and Surf Orpheus (2008 Getty Villa and UCSD). Madden also directs theatre, music events and opera including at the Public Theatre, Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Los Angeles Philharmonic's Disney Hall and Actors Theatre of Louisville.
