David Schultz

Before and after graduation from the University of Chicago, David worked as a professional actor for ten years, appearing in productions throughout the Chicago area. Following graduation from Columbia’s MFA Dramaturgy program, he served as dramaturg on numerous productions in New York, including Tennessee Williams’ One Arm, directed by Moisés Kaufman. As Artistic Director of Category 7, he recently produced a revival of Bill Cain’s Stand-Up Tragedy with Nativity Church, near his home in the East Village in New York. He is proud to be a Teaching Artist with International Theatre Literacy Project, with whom he completed an educational residency in Varanasi, India in 2012.
