David Taft is a performer, freelance movement coach, and mask consultant for stage and television who has worked in movement theater for over thirty years with numerous ensemble companies, including Two Penny Theater, the Stained Glass Company, and Creation Company. He acted off-Broadway in New York City for five years and locally at New City Theatre, On the Boards, Seattle Repertory Theatre, Freehold Studio and Strawberry Theatre Workshop. At Cornish, David directed the 1995 Commedia dell’Arte production The Three Cuckolds, co-directed the 1999 Sophomore Ensemble original work 010100 and in 2013 directed two of Moliere’s one-act plays, Sganarerelle and The Jealous Husband. He has trained with Michael Howard, Carlo Mazzone-Clemente and Gennadi Bogdanov, is a graduate of the Dell’Arte School, holds a BA from the University of Washington and a Masters in Teaching from Seattle University. David has been on faculty at Cornish since 1993.
