Deborah Stein

Deborah Stein is a playwright and teacher based in New York. With creative partner Suli Holum, she is co-artistic director of Stein | Holum Projects (SHP), a collaborative laboratory for creating new theatre works. Their first piece, Chimera, was created in residence at HERE where it premiered as part of the 2012 Under the Radar Festival. Deborah currently teaches writing and collaboration at the Yale School of Drama and NYU/Tisch School of the Arts, and received her MFA from Brown University. She has received the NYSCA, the Bush Artist Fellowship, and two Jerome Fellowships and a McKnight Advancement Grant at the Playwrights’ Center in Minneapolis. She is a resident playwright at New Dramatists.
