Elle Thoni

Elle Thoni is a xenogender playwright, performance-maker, and public artist stewarding the emergent organism Wild Conspiracy on Dakota and Anishinaabe land in the Upper Mississippi Watershed.

Elle Thoni (they/she pronouns) is a xenogender playwright, performance-maker, and public artist collaborating on and with Dakota and Anishinaabe land in the Upper Mississippi and Lake Superior watersheds. A lifelong student of myth, Elle’s performance works investigate how our sense of belonging, identity, and loss are changing with our climate. Their plays are odes to emergent ecologies, wherein humans are but one of the actors in a much larger drama. In 2020, Elle launched the queer performance organism Wild Conspiracy to honor the ensemble nature of their work. You can read more and join the conspiracy at wildconspiracy.org. Elle is a 2024 MFA Candidate in Dramatic Writing at Carnegie Mellon University. They are grateful to their many human and more-than-human mentors.
