Gabriela Sanchez is the Executive Director of the Philadelphia Cultural Fund, leading efforts to support the city’s vibrant arts sector through a lens of equity, access, and community well-being. Under Gabriela’s visionary leadership, PCF secured a monumental $8 million investment from the William Penn Foundation, the largest in its history, marking a transformative shift toward trust-based philanthropy and deepened support for small and mid-sized art and culture organizations.
Sanchez is a cultural producer and multidisciplinary artist whose work lives at the intersection of creativity and social justice. She is the Co-Founder and Co-Artistic Director of Power Street Theatre, a BIPOC-led collective rooted in the barrios of North and West Philly, dedicated to uplifting new works and community storytelling.
A Philadelphia native and Temple University graduate, Sanchez has worked with numerous impactful local organizations, including Taller Puertorriqueño, Norris Square Neighborhood Project, and Conflict Resolution Theatre. Her accolades include the Philadelphia Business Journal's Faces of Philanthropy Award, Leeway Transformation Award and Art & Change Grant, AL DÍA 40 Under Forty, and fellowships from the Knight Foundation and Map Fund.
Sanchez’s career is driven by a passion for coalition-building, grassroots advocacy, and an unwavering commitment to cultural equity across Philadelphia neighborhoods.
