Haja Worley is a long-time activist and community organizer who joined the Black Panther Party in his teens. He began his adult years in Brooklyn, where he joined the National Black United Front under the mentorship of Jitu Weusi. He later moved to Harlem where he co-directs Project Harmony, Inc., with his wife Cindy and has been active with community gardens. He heads up the Circle of Brothers, Inc. and co-hosts “Harlem 411” on WHCR-90.3FM (City College public radio). He was president of the NYCCGC (1996-97), Chair, Parks and Recreation Committee CB#10 (1990-2000), chair, of COB Council, CERT-member Community Emergency Response Team, Manhattan 10, and Engineer (“Inside Housing”). Haja has long been a gospel singer in groups and as a solo performer.
