Jadele McPherson

Jadele McPherson is an interdisciplinary artist who created DA CLOCK (2015) at Pregones Theater for Pepatian's Creating Connections, and at JACK with support from a Brooklyn Arts Council Community Fund Grant (2015). The piece is the third in a series on violence and the black body with her Lukumi Arts theater collective which presented Wemilere: Songs & A Just Meditation at JACK in December 2015. This Spring McPherson performed with Latasha Digg's tributes to Jayne Cortez at the Lincoln Center Atrium & the Highline Park. In August 2016 she performed with Yosvany Terry's Quintet at BRIC's Celebrate Brooklyn tribute to Celia Cruz with Angelique Kidjo feat. Pedrito Martinez. McPherson performed in Meshell Ndegeocello's Baldwin tribute Can I Get a Witness? at Harlem Stage in December 2016. McPherson's experimental theatre installation La Sirene: Rutas de Azucar debuted at JACK directed by Charlotte Brathwaite in December 2016, closed the HERE Arts SANCTUARY series in February 2017, and will travel to Brown University's Rites & Reason Theatre in March 2017.
