
As Executive Director of Kelly Strayhorn Theater, janera solomon directs, implements and furthers the strategic agenda, leadership and vision of an anchor cultural institution in Pittsburgh's dynamic East Liberty neighborhood. A recognized leader, she was named one of Pittsburgh's 50 Most Powerful People. Kelly Strayhorn Theater's programs support Pittsburgh’s ecosystem of arts and culture, at the intersection of contemporary arts and social change reflecting the unique diversity of our neighborhood. janera has an extensive background as arts producer and curator with experience in management, strategic planning, program development, community engagement and contemporary visual and performing arts programming bringing together diverse audiences. An experienced consultant, past projects list includes: the Museum of the African Diaspora in San Francisco, the August Wilson Center, Brooklyn Museum of Art, and several others with Toronto based, cultural planning firm Lord Culture.
