Jayme Kilburn is a director, playwright, and Assistant Professor of Theatre at Union Commonwealth University in Kentucky; her work centers on feminist performance and community-engaged theatre-making.

Jayme Kilburn is an Assistant Professor of Theatre at Union Commonwealth University in Kentucky. She is the Founding Artistic Director of the Strand Theater Company in Baltimore and previously served as Artistic Director of Black Hills Community Theatre. Jayme holds a Ph.D. in Theatre Arts from Cornell University, an M.A. in Humanities and Social Thought from NYU, and degrees in Dramatic Art and Psychology from UC Santa Barbara. Her work focuses on feminist and community-based performance, particularly in rural and carceral spaces. She has directed over forty productions and her original plays have premiered at Venus Theatre. She is an associate member of SDC and has facilitated programming for incarcerated artists, community festivals, and public engagement events.
