Johanna Kasimow is a theater artist and educator living in Iowa City. 

Johanna is a theater artist and educator living in Iowa City. She is a director, writer, and performer of new plays and experimental performance projects. Recent work includes City In Heat, a site-specific live cinema performance piece co-created with Carlos Ferguson and Kate In, that premiered as part of the Open Air Media Festival at Public Space One in Iowa City; The Grüb, a new play in development, co-created with Eva Steinmetz and Alex Tatarsky, and director of the premiere of Aaron Pang's Herein Lies the Truth at Riverside Theatre. Johanna holds an MFA in Devised Performance from the University of the Arts/Pig Iron School in Philadelphia, and is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Theatre Arts at the University of Iowa.
