Josh Sobel

Josh Sobel (he/him) is a director, dramaturg/content developer, and educator specializing in expanded storytelling through pop-influenced, collage-based collaborative approaches. His work has garnered recognition from the Chicago Tribune, Sun-Times, Washington Post, and Time Out, and he was one of Newcity Stage’s “Players 2019: The Fifty People Who Really Perform for Chicago.” Credits include CalArts CNP, Steppenwolf Theatre, the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center, Haven Chicago, Steep Theatre, Victory Gardens, Flying V, Edinburgh Fringe, and more. He is the executive producer of the upcoming short films “Whole” and “Six Feet Apart,” the former artistic director of Haven Chicago, and the recipient of an SDCF Observership. He has a BA from Oberlin College and MFA from CalArts.
