Julie McGarvie

Julie McGarvie is a communications professional who specializes in public relations and marketing services for arts and cultural organizations. With over 20 years experience, Ms. McGarvie has served a wide range of artists and institutions in the realms of theatre, film, music, dance, architecture, and performance art.  This includes work as the Director of Marketing for Penumbra Theatre, Vice President of Marketing and Communications for the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts, and as Director of Communications for the Lorraine Hansberry Literary Trust. She holds a BA in Women’s Studies with an emphasis on art, literature and social change, and an MFA in Directing Theatre Arts and Dance with a minor in Interdisciplinary Art.  She is certified in project management from the Opus College of Business, St. Thomas University, and is course certified in the areas of contemporary art and writing for the art world through Sotheby’s Institute, New York.
