Kimmothy Cole is an intergenerational community builder utilizing creative expression as an entry point for meaningful connections.

Kimmothy Cole is a trans non-binary educator, organizer and creator living in central Virginia. Cole has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical
Theatre, an endorsement in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health (Virginia), is a certified Embodied Social Justice practitioner and
Movement Chaplain. They have 20 years of experience organizing intergenerational community in spiritual, educational and creative
environments.

Cole has worked as a collaborative artist on original performance works and adaptations with professional and youth organizations. They work with students from infancy through adulthood to develop skills in creative expression, confidence and collaboration. Cole leads workshops in devised methods, socially conscious performance, creative community building and ability-inclusive skill building. Cole was the Founding Artistic Director of TAPROOT, a multi-disciplinary performance collective in Charlotte, NC. They are an award-winning theatre artist with decades of experience as a performer, director, choreographer, technician and educator utilizing puppeteering, Viewpoints, contact improv, clowning, and a wide range of theatre and dance styles. Their work incorporates, live projection, theatrical techniques, diverse dance styles, improvisation, original musical scores, and shadow to create pieces that speak truth into communities and immerse audiences in innovative experiences. Their work is built on collaborative and devised techniques with diverse training across artistic and academic disciplines.

Their ancestral Celtic culture inspires a connection with the natural world that prioritizes alignment with the ecosystem and right relationship with our human and non-human kin. Cole believes in ability and age inclusive community that values the many different phases of wisdom that humans access throughout their life. Trained in consensus-based decision making, Cole teaches consent culture and meaningful conflict resolution at all ages. 

Currently, Cole is the Director of Programming for US|wild|THEMS, an intergenerational community with a focus on early childhood education. In this role, they produce Trash Drag, an open-stage non-competitive drag show for the drag novice and the drag-curious. They also write, direct and perform in immersive performance pieces that challenge and delight.
