Kristin Leahey

Kristin Leahey (PhD) is an Assistant Professor at Boston University. She served in the artistic departments of Seattle Repertory Theatre, Northlight Theatre, and Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company.  She has freelanced with Primary Stages, Classical Stage Company, Dallas Theater Center, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Playwrights’ Center, Provincetown Tennessee Williams Festival, Galway International Arts Festival, Trinity Repertory Theatre, the O’Neill Theater Center, Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Curious Theatre Company, Guthrie Theater, Jungle Theater, Village Theatre, Steppenwolf Theatre, Goodman Theatre, The Lark, The Kennedy Center, The Old Globe, Indiana Repertory Theatre, Cleveland Play House, Victory Gardens Theater, American Theatre Company, Collaboraction, Rivendell Theatre Ensemble, Teatro Luna, Teatro Vista (artistic associate), and Steep Theatre Company (artistic associate), among others. She serves as a member of the Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas (LMDA) executive committee and as the Editor of the LMDA Journal Review. Her publications include articles in Theatre Topics, Theatre History, and Theatre Studies, and she has taught at Cornish College, DePaul University, the University of Chicago, Columbia College, Loyola University Chicago, The University of Texas at Austin, and Lake Michigan College. She earned her doctorate at the University of Texas at Austin, master’s at Northwestern University, and BA in Drama and History at Tufts University.
