Pedagogue, playwright, and theatre director
I am Laura, a theatre director, playwright, and eco-theatre pedagogue who has been working in the theatrical field for the last 30 years.
I have been running Charioteer Theatre (www.charioteertheatre.co.uk) since 2005, establishing a strong connection with Italian theatres and specializing in work for 13+ that I toured regularly in Italy and Scotland.
I have been teaching professional actors at one of the National Theatre of Italy for 10 years. I run regular workshops and courses for professional and non-professional performing artists both in the UK and Italy. In the last 3 years, I have relocated to Findhorn (my soul’s nest) and developed several pieces of work combining theatre and nature.
Recently I founded a new branch of Charioteer focusing on Eco-Theatre: Theatre of the 7 Directions; it is designed for humans eager to regain their true identity as part of the more than human world and find their place on this planet using eco-theatre tools.
I live in Findhorn, an eco-village in the north of Scotland where I focus on intergenerational projects. I recently founded the Creativity & Wellbeing in Community group to develop projects that can support inclusion, integration, diversity, and collective growth through creativity in our community.
