Playwright and Theater Historian

Les Hunter: Playwrights Local, Theater 167, Cleveland Public Theater, Bates College, Dobama Theatre, St. Joseph’s College, Manhattan Theatre Source, Artistic New Directions, and America-in-Play have produced or developed Hunter’s plays. Playscripts and Brooklyn Publishers publish and license his work. Hunter’s prose has appeared in American Theatre Magazine, Theatre Survey, Offoffonline, Cutbank, Fiction Southeast, The Dramatist, The Eugene O’Neill Review, Text & Presentation and as chapters in the books Performing the Progressive Era and Experimental O’Neill. In 2014, Hunter attended the Mellon School of Theater and Performance Research at Harvard University. He has served as the literary director of Theatre 167, and curator of new plays at LaGuardia Performing Arts Center and is an assistant professor of English at Baldwin Wallace University.
