Director & Dramaturg
Linda Lombardi is a dramaturg and director attracted to work that shifts our perspective and broadens our understanding of the world. An artist and activist based in Washington, DC, Linda explores the intersection of dramaturgy and community engagement, and acts as a bridge between the work and the public. In three seasons as literary manager and artistic associate at Arena Stage, she served as production dramaturg and script supervisor for over 25 productions including All the Way, Disgraced, Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner, King Hedley II, the world premieres of Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery and Camp David, and the co-commission of Sweat (with OSF). Directing credits include Perfect Arrangement (Source Festival, world premiere); Pramkicker (Taffety Punk Theatre Company, DC premiere); and Henry IV, Part I; Henry IV, Part II; and Henry V (GreenStage). New play dramaturgy work includes the 2024 world premiere of Behfarmaheen (If You Please) at Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and Girl On a Hill and Familiar Kill, both for Clamour Theatre. Linda is a member of Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas, the artistic council for the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center’s National Playwrights Conference, and a script reader for the Playwrights’ Center.
