Marcus Lane

Collaborative artist, teacher and director

Marcus Lane is currently an Associate Professor of Theatre and Head of Actor Training at the University of Montevallo. He teaches movement, stage combat, acting and directing. He received his MFA in Acting from the University of Alabama and his BA in Speech/Theatre from Louisiana Tech University.

Over the years, Marcus has worked as an actor, fight director/choreographer, movement coach, and director. Recent directing credits at include productions of AS YOU LIKE IT, THE WEIR, TARTUFFE and PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT. His work has also been featured at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, City Equity, Theatre Downtown and at The DANE. He has received several BroadwayWorld.com nominations for his work, including multiple nominations for Best Director. He recently played Father Russel in the feature film SHADOW TAG, which should hit theatres later this year.
