Marianna Mott Newirth

A New York librettist, writer & creative producer who generates new works for the stage and the mind.

Marianna Mott Newirth is a New York librettist, playwright & creative producer. Her short opera works have been performed from Toronto to Munich with a number of her short plays workshopped throughout NYC. She’s edited work for the International Association for Music and Medicine online journal and currently serves as President of the New York Opera Alliance. She is co-founder (circa 2022) of Opera Praktikos, an interabled opera company . She has volunteered on a number of not-for-profit boards including the National Federation for Business and Professional Women and the YMCA Camps. Her first full-length opera with composer/librettist, Carla Lucero*, is 'touch' on the radical adult life of Helen Keller. 'touch' is commissioned by Opera Birmingham and a recipient of the Opera America Commissioning Grant for Women Composers* 2022. Marianna is a 'graduate' of the BMP - Producer Academy and has served as a librettist fellow for the Really Spicy Opera aria institute.
