Nkenna Akunna is a playwright from London, currently completing an MFA in Playwriting at Brown University.

Nkenna Akunna is a British Nigerian writer and performer from London. Her work has been staged at the Southwark Playhouse (UK), VAULT Festival (UK), WOW Cafe Theatre (USA) and produced by VoxFest (USA) and Tamasha Theatre Company (UK). She is a winner of the VAULT Festival New Writers Award, a finalist for SPACE on Ryder Farm’s Greenhouse Residency, a finalist for the BBC’s Felix Dexter bursary, and a member of 2017-2018 Soho Writers’ Lab and Alumni Group. She is co-director and lead editor at Skin Deep, a collective that makes space for Black creatives and creatives of colour through cultural production.
