Paul Gabbard

Founding Artistic Director of Y-Not Theatre 

Paul Gabbard is the artistic director of Y-Not Theatre, an organization committed to producing, presenting, promoting and developing new American plays in North Central Florida.  He is a member of MICHA-The Michael Chekhov Association and an alumnus of the Eugene O’Neill National Theatre Institute’s Advanced Directing Program.  He has a B.A in General Theatre from Florida State University and an M.A. in Arts Administration from Savannah College of Art and Design.  He has a Florida teaching certification and taught middle and high school theatre for 3 years in the public-school system.  He hosts a bi-weekly radio show on WUBA public radio called “No Performance Required”. The show is a conservation with North Central Florida’s most exciting theatre artists. His directing credits include Only We Who Guard the Mystery Shall Be Unhappy, The Birthday Bike Party-A Tribute to Paula Vogel, Daisy’s Adventure-The Juliette Gordon Low Story and Every 17 Minutes The Crowd Goes Wild. In a world of distractions and demands, he is most alive and centered when he is in the rehearsal space exploring new stories with actors and playwrights.
