Peter Hussey

Artistic Director and founder of Crooked House (Ireland)

Peter Hussey is an Irish theatre-maker who founded Crooked House Theatre Company in 1993. He directed international new work for Irish audiences before setting up Kildare Youth Theatre and developing theatre projects for, with and by young people. 

He specialises in directing productions of Shakespeare with teenagers and young people; devising experimental new performances; and training young actors and theatre-makers. His work attempts to blend physical post-dramatic elements with narrative structures. 

Peter lectures in Maynooth University in Ireland, teaching Stage Directing, Theatre in Education, and Theatre of the Oppressed. He was Artist in Residence with the Education departments.
