Roxanna Myhrum

Roxie is a Boston-based producer and director of opera, theater, and puppetry.

Roxanna Myhrum is a producer and director of opera, theater, and puppetry. From 2009 to 2021, she served as Puppet Showplace Theater's Artistic Director. There, she curated an annual family series featuring dozens of nationally-touring companies, directed an all-ages education program, instigated new works by local artists, and hosted monthly "Puppets at Night" performances for adults. A sought-after puppetry director and coach, Roxanna also has credits at the Huntington Theatre Company, SpeakEasy Stage, the Lyric Stage Company of Boston, Wheelock Family Theater, and many others. Recently, she served on the Board of Directors for Puppeteers of America and the Jim Henson Foundation. In addition to her work in puppetry, Roxanna is active as a stage director in Boston's vibrant fringe opera scene, and has directed over 20 operas performed in 7 languages, many in non-traditional spaces. Roxanna grew up in Springfield, MA where she studied at The Drama Studio. She is an honors graduate of Harvard University. www.roxanna-myhrum.com
