Rupert Reyes, playwright, actor, general all around theater artist.

Rupert Reyes is a playwright, actor, director, producer and the co-founder of Teatro Vivo, a bilingual theater in Austin, Texas. He is a graduate of UT at Austin, Theater and his past collaborations include the University of Texas Department of Theater and Dance and ZACH Theater. Reyes' film work includes Ms. Congeniality, Mike Judge's Office Space and numerous commercials. His published plays include Petra's Pecado and Vecinos, which was a 2007 B. Iden Payne nomination. The Austin American Statesman called his plays the “Greater Tuna of Latino Theater”. His awards include Community College Top 25 influential Latinos in Austin, the Mexican—American Cultural Center's community artists award, The City of Austin's Partners in the Arts and Humanity Award, The University of Texas at Austin, Office of Community Engagement Office Community Leadership Award and nominations from Critics Table Awards and The B. Iden Payne Awards.
