Teddy Mangawa Theatre director, actor, and educator. Artistic Director of the Mitambo International Theatre Festival. 

 

Teddy Mangawa is a Zimbabwean theatre director, actor, and educator. He is the Artistic Director of the Mitambo International Theatre Festival, Creative Manager at Savanna Trust, and a 2024–2026 Fellow with the Georgetown University Laboratory for Global Performance and Politics. A graduate of the Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theatre in the United States, Teddy is a two-time National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA) winner for Best Actor and has also received nominations in the Best Director category. He is the founder of Organic Voices Trust and a former Chair of the Zimbabwe Theatre Association. His practice is rooted in community theatre, where he mentors young artists, engages grassroots communities, and uses performance as a tool for dialogue, resilience, and social transformation.
